Employee Attributes

                                                               Employee attributes.

                                                            What is an Attribute?

An attribute is a characteristic of  a person. An attribute means that you have skills like planning skills, organisational skills, time management, team working, verbal skills, written communication skills, numeracy and creativity   Attributes valued by employers.

The attributes  that are valued by employers are Communications Skills, Numeracy, IT skills
 .

Rainbow light Charity are looking for volunteers  with good Communication Skills and also good IT Skills and able to do anything on the computer like how to make a talking book on the computer by recording topics on to the computer with a microphone and then recorded it onto a disc.

The two examples that I am going to give is 1 specific attribute and 1 general attibute.

Specific

The one  specific attribute examples that Rainbow Light Charity would look for volunteers with Ict skills  they would need to know how to create the talking books and show the kids who have sight problems on how to use the talking books. they would also know how to help them use the talking book by giving them different ways like instructions on how to use the talking book. The talking books are created by talking into a microphone and then recording it onto the computer and then copying it onto a disk and then taking it into the charity and play the disk on a computer and show the client on how to use the talking book. When using the computer you might have to use a database to type in the names of volunteers and also their  phone numbers or email addresses and Date of Birth. A database would be used for  creating  queries to find out different volunteers and clients  surnames and their contact details like telephone numbers , email address if the manager needs to contact the volunteers  to come into the charity just incase they need extra help or to email them and give the clients updated information about the charity. When using the computer you will have to use a  blog to keep updated information on the Rainbow Charity on what volunteers do with different adults with a vision disability. A blog can also be used for updated information about the charity for all their clients so the clients can find out more about the charity. Emailing is used for the manager  to contact the volunteers or clients to see whether they are still coming into the charity and make sure the volunteers know what client that they have.

       General

The one general attribute that the Rainbow Light Charity are looking for in volunteers is Communication Skills. A Definition of communication skills is that Every individual needs to be well equipped with the tools to communicate effectively, whether it is at work. It is important Because if there is a sight problem they will need communication skills to speak to that child or person that they are working with. An example is in the Rainbow charity they will have to work with adults  that have sight problems and they would have to explain and show them how to make a talking book and how to put it onto the computer and also explain to them how the talking book works by using verbal and non verbal communication skills by telling them how to use the talking book.

Give 2 examples of personal attitudes that might be expected of a Rainbow Volunteer.

The first attitude that the Rainbow Light Charity  is looking for in volunteers is  confidence. The  confidence that the Rainbow Light charity is looking for in a volunteer are also she knows what she is doing to help the client  with their sight problem. The Volunteer also knows she needs to be confident for the child because the client   will know that you don't have any confidence and the client  would get very upset. The second attitude that I have chosen is Dependable. I have chosen this attitude because the volunteer will need to be dependable because the adult  will lean on the volunteer for help and also the volunteer will also need to be dependable for the client because if the client is dependable on the volunteer the volunteer cannot let the client  down because if the volunteer is not dependable for the client  will not depend on the volunteer and the manager will get a different volunteer to look after the client. There are three types of communication and they are: verbal, written, non-verbal. Each type is used in different ways like verbal communication is one way for people to communicate face-to-face.  Some of the key components of verbal communication are sound, words, speaking, and language. Non verbal communication is used by Messages can be communicated through gestures and touch, by body language or posture, by facial expression and eye contact, which are all considered types of nonverbal communication. Written Communication involves expressing yourself clearly, using language with precision; constructing a logical argument; note taking, editing and summarising; and writing reports.

Learning styles

INTRODUCTION
I have to explain what a learning style and then I have to explain the seven different learning styles and they are
· Visual (spatial): You prefer using pictures, images, and spatial understanding.
· Aural (auditory-musical): You prefer using sound and music.
· Verbal (linguistic): You prefer using words, both in speech and writing.
· Physical (kinesthetic): You prefer using your body, hands and sense of touch.
· Logical (mathematical): You prefer using logic, reasoning and systems.
· Social (interpersonal): You prefer to learn in groups or with other people.
· Solitary (intrapersonal): You prefer to work alone and use self-study

What is a learning style?

Learning styles are various ways of learning. Many people learn better with many
different learning styles. Some people could be visual, verbal, aural, physical, logical, social and solitary.
Visual

Visual learners learn best by seeing information. The following characteristics are typical of many individuals with strong visual processing skills: A visual learner is somebody who uses images and pictures to help them learn stuff e.g. mind map, charts, and diagrams. Visual learners have strong visualization skills. They can look up (often up to the left) an "see" the information invisibly written or drawn. Visual-spatial skills such as sizes, shapes, textures, angles, and three-dimensional depths are strong.Visualizing objects helps to memorize and helps to organize information.

       Aural
An aural learner is a person who prefer using sound and music. Also likes using speech
reading / lip reading. They also like to record the teacher on what they or record yourself. They also like Information spoken conversations in class. They prefer listening and taking notes. They also like repeating words aloud for memorization to help them remember what they discussed in class. They Can recall what they have heard by playing back cds, tapes.

Verbal
The verbal style involves both the written and spoken word. If you use this style, you find it easy to express yourself, both in writing and verbally. if you are a verbal learner you love reading and writing. You like playing on the meaning or sound of words, such as in tongue twisters, rhymes, limericks and the like. You know the meaning of many words, and regularly make an effort to find the meaning of new words. You use these words, as well as phrases you have picked up recently, when talking to others.

If the physical style is more like you, it's likely that you use your body and sense of touch to learn about the world around you. It's likely you like sports and exercise, and other physical activities such as gardening or woodworking. You like to think out issues, ideas and problems while you exercise. You would rather go for a run or walk if something is bothering you, rather than sitting at home. You are more sensitive to the physical world around you. You notice and appreciate textures, for example in clothes or furniture. You like 'getting your hands dirty,' or making models, or working out jigsaws. You typically use larger hand gestures and other body language to communicate. You probably don't mind getting up and dancing either, at least when the time is right. You either love the physical action of theme park rides, or they upset your inner body sense too much and so you avoid them altogether. When you are learning a new skill or topic, you would prefer to 'jump in' and play with the physical parts as soon as possible. You would prefer to pull an engine apart and put it back together, rather than reading or looking at diagrams about how it works.

Logical

If you use the logical style, you like using your brain for logical and mathematical reasoning. You can recognize patterns easily, as well as connections between seemingly meaningless content. This also leads you to classify and group information to help you learn or understand it. You work well with numbers and you can perform complex calculations. You remember the basics of trigonometry and algebra, and you can do moderately complex calculations in your head. You typically work through problems and issues in a systematic way, and you like to create procedures for future use. You are happy setting numerical targets and budgets, and you track your progress towards these. You like creating agendas, itineraries, and to-do lists, and you typically number and rank them before putting them into action

Social
If you have a strong social style, you communicate well with people, both verbally and non-verbally. People listen to you or come to you for advice, and you are sensitive to their motivations, feelings or moods. You listen well and understand other's views. You may enjoy mentoring or counseling others. You typically prefer learning in groups or classes, or you like to spend much one-on-one time with a teacher or an instructor. You heighten your learning by bouncing your thoughts off other people and listening to how they respond. You prefer to work through issues, ideas and problems with a group. You thoroughly enjoy working with a 'clicking' or synergistic group of people.

Solitary

If you have a solitary style, you are more private, introspective and independent. You can concentrate well, focusing your thoughts and feelings on your current topic. You are aware of your own thinking, and you may analyze the different ways you think and feel. You spend time on self-analysis, and often reflect on past events and the way you approached them. You take time to ponder and assess your own accomplishments or challenges. You may keep a journal, diary or personal log to record your personal thoughts and events. You like to spend time alone. You may have a personal hobby that you like to do. You prefer traveling or holidaying in remote or places, away from crowds. what is my preffered learning style?

My preffered learning style is solitary.

Learning styles quiz
www.learning-styles-online.com

From this Learning styles quiz it is telling that I  am a visual, aural, Solitary.
My first highest learning style is solitary. I like to work on my own and I have my own hobbies that I like to do like going to the gym. This will come effective because I know what learning style know and I can do my own work on my own. My second highest learning style is Aural. While I am working I like to listen to music while I am doing assessment work. My third highest learning styles is Visual. While I am studying I like to  use pictures and images to memorize information about a topic that i am studying.

Solitary learning style learning techniques.
I now know my learning style i can learn from this by using these different things for solitary.
You prefer to learn alone using self-study. When you spend time with an instructor or a teacher, you often only clarify information you haven't be able to clarify yourself. You may dislike learning in groups.  Be aware of your inner thoughts and feeling towards various topics. This is because these inner thoughts have more of an impact on your motivation and ability to learn than they do in the other styles. Set your goals, objectives and plans.  Understand your reasons for undertaking each objective, and ensure that you are happy with your learning goals. Align your goals and objectives with personal beliefs and values. If there is misalignment, you may run into issues with motivation or confidence. It's not always obvious what the underlying cause is.  misalignment. Create a personal interest in your topics.

Aural learning Technique
Now that i know that i am an aural Learner i can  use sound, rhyme, and music in my learning. I can Focus on using aural content in your association and visualization. I can use sound recordings to provide a background and help you get into visualizations.  If you don't have these recordings, consider creating them while next out training. When creating mnemonics or acrostics, make the most of rhythm and rhyme, or set them to a jingle or part of a song. Use the anchoring technique to recall various states that music invokes in you. If you have some particular music or song that makes you want to 'take on the world,' play it back and anchor your emotions and state. When you need the boost, you can easily recall the state without needing the music.

Visual Learner

Now that i know that I am a visual learner i can use images, diagrams and pictures to explain my work and also can use a picture or diagram when I am explaining my work and also can show what i am writing about. I also draw out mindmap to remember different facts from the work I did in class and I also can use mindmaps to help me study for exams and to remember facts about a topic like website production, employability or many more.
